Not everyone in the corp needs to train up their refining right away. You can benefit from the skills of other corp members, as one of the perqs of belonging to Amicus. Since it benefits us all to have our members advance, we offer these services free of charge. Remember, the refiners aren't charging you either, so be patient and you will get the benefit of their excellent skill.
How it works:
In the communal hangar, the corp leaves un-assembled containers. Take a container, assemble it, and name it (Your Name): Refinables (Date). You may use more than one container if you like. Place loot you want reprocessed, ore you want refined, or alloys you want refined, into the containers. Drop this in the Refining Queue corp hangar at an Astral Mining corp office. You won't be able to see the refining queue, and the system will warn you that you can't take the containers back.
Trusted refiners will take the containers out of the Refining Queue, people who have enough standing and reputation with us that we trust them not to steal. They reprocess the contents of the containers, place the resulting minerals in as few containers as they will fit, and then name those containers (Owner Name): Refined (Date). The Owner name is the name of the person who originally named the container.
A security officer will go through the refined containers, send the owner an Evemail letting them know their minerals are ready, as well as an inventory of the minerals in case of any errors or questions. The security officer will deposit those minerals directly to your hangar at the station, repackage the container, and return it to the communal hangar. Please note, security officers can only GIVE you things, they cannot take anything from your hangar, so please do not ask them to.
The only catch:
Occasionally-- very rarely-- the corp will be in need of certain minerals, and this will be posted in corpmail. Please check corpmail before submitting your refinables in case you need these minerals. The corp will withhold these minerals from your order and pay you 65% of the best station buy-price for them. If you do not want to contribute these minerals, we suggest you privately ask one of the refiners to refine for you rather than making use of the convenience of the refining queue. These acquisition requests will be very rare and will usually be a result of corp manufacturing needs.
